ITW Hi-Cone Leader honored at International Coastal Cleanup Conference

Matt Hayden of ITW Hi-Cone was honored by the 1998 International Coastal Cleanup Conference for his dedication to the program in its 10th year anniversary.

Coastal Cleanup is important

On the third Saturday of September every year for the last six years, employees and people who live in the area of Hollywood Beach in Chicago come out to participate in the coastal cleanup. The Coastal cleanup is an international event, in which people try to better our environment through cleaning up our beaches. ITW Hi-Cone has been proud to actively participate in this event, and pictured above is everyone that came out to help.

ITW Hi-Cone Leaders to attend important conferences

Matt Hayden of ITW Hi-Cone has been invited to attend two important conferences, in part of President Clinton's proclamation of 1998 as Year of the Ocean.

Mr. Hayden will attend the National Ocean Conference in Monterey, California, which is being co-hosted by the Department of Commerce and the United States Navy. Both President Clinton and Vice President Al Gore have plans to attend this conference.

In addition to this exciting conference, Mr. Hayden has been invited to speak at the 16th Biennial Meeting of The Coastal Society. His presentation will be part of a session entitled, "Is Your Message Meaningless in the Eyes of the Evening News?", in which they hope to explore the challenges faced in educating and informing the public about coastal resource management issues.

Friend of the Ring Leader Program Receives Award

Ashley Wilkins, friend of the Ring Leader Program, received the Outstanding Teenager award from the Eden Jaycees. Ashley was instrumental in working with ITW Hi-Cone to recycle six-pack rings and to start the "Chain of Hope," which was held at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Congratulations to you, Ashley! Loyal Order of Moose joins with ITW Hi-Cone
and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliaries Sea Partners Program

We would like to welcome the Antioch, Illinois Chapter of the Loyal Order of Moose. Along with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliaries Sea Partners Program, they will be bringing some exciting additions to their Recycling Projects by participating in the Quest for the Ringleader Program.
