   Thank you for your informative letter updating me on your
national project "Chain of hope for a sustainable future."

   Protecting and preserving the environment is a goal shared
by all Americans.  We all want to drink clean, breathe
clean air, and provide a cleaner America to our present and
future generations.  You have taken on that challenge with great
enthusiasm at an age when most are not considering the value and 
importance of preserving our natural resources.

   Your project will undoubtedly have a positive environmental
impact all across the United States.  I wish you the best of luck
at your unveiling of the plastic ring chain on the Mall in
Washington this April.
