Top Honours to Scoil O Dhalaigh in Leixlip
This year's prize for the biggest volume collection of ring-carrier went to Scoil O Dhalaigh in Leixlip, County Kildare. A very special effort by teachers and pupils resulted in over 21 kg of material being returned for recycling to ITW Hi-Cone in Mallow. This is five times the average colume collected on a national basis by the 209 participating Ringleader schools.
To mark Scoil O Dhalaigh's achievement, the Ringleader team, including Ringo himself, were guests of the school in June when a special award was presented to 5th and 6th class pupils and teachers by wildlife author and artist, Don Conroy.
